Real Weddings: Adorable Couple Chinenye & Roy Tie The Knot Traditionally

Beautiful couple Chinenye and Roy recently celebrated their love with a Traditional Wedding which took place at the brides home town of Akwakuma in Owerri, Imo State Nigeria. Their white wedding will be taking place later this year in which the bride and groom concludes the festivities that will bind their union.

Here is their romantic story about how they met and what they really think of each other...

HOW WE MET

We have actually known each other for some time now. All thanks to Southern Fried Chicken (SFC) Gana Street Maitama, Abuja, where we met. I came to SFC at lunch time to get some food, when I saw Nyenye walk in with a friend, immediately I told myself ‘there goes my bride.” I finished my food and kept a steady gaze at her until she was done with her food and ready to leave, I waited patiently for her to leave, then followed up, got chatting with her, after some rebuffs we exchanged phone numbers and got talking thereafter.

I invited her over for lunch on several occasions, but she’ll turn down, or promise to come, but wouldn’t show up. Nevertheless, as we got talking, to an extent we found out we had many similarities and views about life and a lot in common. Everything felt so natural and normal like we had known each other our whole live. 

We fell in love almost immediately and have been inseparable since then. For as much as fate plays a part in one’s life, it was fate that brought us together that faithful day, and we are grateful to God for making our paths cross.

From then on we kept in touch and got quite fond of each other. After a few months we decided to hit it off from there and take life to the next step which was a decision we are very happy we took and have kept the relationship going strong since then on. Thank God I have found my ‘missing rib’, the reason you are here reading about us.

THE PROPOSAL

The intended idea was to have a surprise party & bring her in blind folded, and propose immediately. But the whole idea changed last minute for Plan B.Time check 12:01am 12th September into her birthday, she slept quite early the previous night, I was busy strategizing alone in the sitting room, of the best way to pop the question to her, haven got the ring one week to her birthday. An idea struck, I left the sitting room and walked into the bed room quietly, turned  on the light, woke  her up as sleepy as she was, blind folded her with a red ribbon(signifying Love). 

She was both surprised/confused, “baby, what is it? What is going on, she asked”? I brought out the red velvet pack containing the ring, which had been inside the bible all day, I brought out the studded ring, untied her, went down on one knee(right knee to be precise)placed the ring on the fourth finger of her left hand and said, “I know this is not the best of proposals, and that the time and hour may be wrong, for in good times and in bad, for your support when I needed a shoulder to lean on, I ask your hand in marriage, to be mine forever, as I hand you this ring to wear with pride, to have and to hold, to love and to cherish,”…………..She grins from ear to ear with the right hand covering her mouth in surprise, she says “ I will baby” …………..Then a cold bottle of champagne was popped, to herald a new beginning!  

THE BRIDE


Chinenye is the 4th child & daughter of her parents.A very beautiful girl with brains,who can make the earth shake. Nyenye as she's fondly called,came around at a time when i needed a partner the most,she could be sometimes very difficult and needs all the attention in the world,but that spices it all up,because at the end she'll say "I only wanted your attention baby"..How sweet? She has really become a big part in my life and sometimes I wonder how I was on this earth and didn’t come across  her all this while.

Well,I guess the saying is true that "Gods time is the best", and definitely the wait was really worth the while. Neither words nor actions can really describe her,but to me she is a wife,Mother,Sister,confidant and above all,my best friend. and I thank God every day that He brought her into my life,and for making our paths cross.

For me, I would be getting married to the flesh of my flesh and the bone of my bones. This is confidential,and she must not hear this "Nyenye cooks finger licking and mouth watering dishes very well",all  thanks to her Mum...

THE GROOM


Roy is an only child of his parents, a God fearing man, and very intelligent,observant,wise and smart.Roy is hard working & supportive. He is romantic,loving, caring, adorable, charming and a lot of fun to be with.

At first instance, I never thought we could date,because Ijust wanted us to be friends,until he swept me off my feet. Akorim as i fondly call him,is an honest,trust worthy and a kind hearted man.He loves completely,gives too much of himself and generous to a fault.

"Roy I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you."
